If you're not receiving push notifications, this may be caused by a number of factors. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to receive notifications again
Check your phone's notification permissions
Your iOS or Android device must give access to My Sermon Notes to receive notifications. First, double-check that notifications are allowed for the app in your Settings app.
iPhone/iPad
- Go to your Settings app
- Go to Notifications
- Select My Sermon Notes
- Make sure "Allow Notifications" is on
Review the settings on the screen and make sure everything is configured as expected. If you are still not receiving push notifications, move on to the next step.
Android
The process for Android devices varies depending on your brand and phone model. Look for the Settings app, and search for Notifications. Look for "My Sermon Notes" and ensure notifications are enabled.

Enable notifications in My Sermon Notes
Once you've enabled notifications for My Sermon Notes in your phone's Settings app, make sure notifications are enabled within My Sermon Notes.
To do this:
- Open My Sermon Notes
- Go to "Profile" in the bottom right corner
- Tap "Notification Preferences"
- Make sure notification categories are toggled on
- Tap the checkmark in the top right corner
If you are still not receiving push notifications, move on to the next step.
Refresh your Church Profile
Sometimes, notifications stop sending and you must refresh the app to get push notifications.
To do this:
- Open My Sermon Notes
- Go to "Profile" in the bottom right corner
- Tap "Church"
- Enter "DEMO" in the 4-digit church code
- Go back to "Profile" and repeat the process
- On the Church screen, select your church using their 4-digit church code, ZIP code, or location
This will not affect your sermon notes or data in any way. After refreshing your church profile, you should receive push notifications again.
